Secret Service

For the next few weeks we will be taking a look at the life of a Secret Service Special Agent… for God, AKA a Disciple of Christ. This will be a lot of fun as we take a look at the purpose, training, and skill of the US Secret Service and compare that to being a follower of Christ. We will explore John 15:7-17 and see what exactly it is that God has called us to, the importance of it, and how He has equipped us to carry out His mission.

Sweetheart’s Banquet

Feb. 11 at 6:00PM our students will be hosting our 5th Annual Sweetheart’s Banquet. This is a time for us to honor God’s plan for marriage by honoring couples in our church. We do this by treating them to a night of dining and entertainment. This is a black tie affair where the couples simply buy a ticket and show up ready to be served in style. Our very own Jericho Down will provide the entertainment but it will be a little different than the worship music that they normally play. Don’t be surprised if you hear one of your favorite love songs from the past. Tickets are on sale through the church office and at the welcome center on Sunday mornings between now and then. The cost will be $30.00 per couple and tips will be appreciated. Any money raised after expenses will go to help student pay for upcoming events. Mission: Garfield

We’re going to spend our Spring Break this year on mission! That’s right, we’re going to be on mission right here in our community, as we carry out Mission Garfield. Our students will spend the week working and ministering alongside our adults and students from Camp War Eagle’s Ozone Clubs to reach out to the good folks of Garfield, AR. We will spend the mornings doing community service in different neighborhoods and the afternoons doing evangelism in those same neighborhoods. Our goal is let people know how much God cares by showing them how much we care. We hope this will give us an opportunity to go back to those same neighborhoods in the Summer and possibly do some mission VBS sites. The dates are of course the week of Spring Break, March 19-23. Mission: Camp Barnabas

This Spring we will be going to Camp Barnabas in Purdy, MO for a weekend of mission work. Camp Barnabas is a camp for kids with special needs and they do a great job of loving these kids and giving them the opportunity to have a great camp experience and to meet with God. Our students will be a small part of this by spending a weekend helping them get the facilities and grounds ready for an exciting week of camp ministry. Summer Camp

Camp is always a great time for students to get out of the world and into the Word for a week. This year we are offering two camp experiences for our students.

As always, we will take Jr. High and High School Students to Camp Siloam in Siloam Springs, AR the week of June 11-15. This will be our main camp event and the one most students will be encouraged to take part in. The cost for this will be $139 per camper.

We are also offering an opportunity for students between 16 and 19 years old to be a counselor for Camp Barnabas for a week this Summer. Camp Barnabas is a camp for disabled and handicap children and is a great ministry. The particular dates are still to be determined and the cost will be $175 per camper.

Various fundraiser events will be held between now and Summer to help students pay for these events. Keep checking back for more details concerning both of these camping opportunities.
